2018 Annual Meeting - 82nd Annual Meeting Highlights
On July 27th Frontier Power hosted nearly 900 members and guests at their annual meeting of members at River View High School. Upon entrance, members received an attendance gift and $10 credit on their bill, and enjoyed hot dogs, chips, cheese and Whit’s Frozen Custard.
During the meeting, board president Robert E. Wise introduced the current board members and attorney, and thanked the members and guests for attending the 82nd Annual Meeting of Members. He also reported on several programs Frontier Power has implemented to bring their members the best service possible and reminded them of The Frontier Power Company’s mission to provide quality, reliable electric service at a reasonable cost while maintaining a strong financial position for the cooperative. President Wise noted Frontier Power’s aggressive right-of-way clearing and spraying programs, implementation of the SCADA system, replacement of the AMR system with an ACLARA system, maintenance and inspection of over 1,500 miles of lines and eleven substations and the long-range plan to replace twenty miles of line per year all contribute to our system not experiencing more severe outages. He ended his report by thanking the employees for their hard work.
Prior to the meeting, the trustee election was held by mail. Attorney Michael Manning read the results and administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected trustees representing each of their districts respectively:
District A, Coshocton County – James Buxton
District C, Tuscarawas County – David Mizer
District D, Coshocton County – Tim Anderson
Mr. Steven K. Nelson, General Manager/CEO of the Frontier Power Company introduced several invited guests, former Frontier Power Board Members, General Manager and employees. He then introduced Congressman Bob Gibbs who spoke to the members, and the guest speaker for the evening, Mr. Doug Miller, Vice President, Statewide Services, Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives. In his Manager’s Report, Mr. Nelson reviewed the financial statement and statistics from the past year, gave a slide presentation, introduced all of the employees and discussed the progress of The Frontier Power Company, Frontier Propane and Frontier Supply, which incorporates Progressive Water, Whit’s Frozen Custard and Coshocton Coffee Connection.
Rob Totten announced the 2018 Frontier Power Company Scholarship and Youth Tour winners.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the kids were treated to a prize of their choice and names were drawn for Frontier Power and Frontier Propane member door prizes.
